About me
After 23 years in financial services, I chose a change in career. Having benefited myself from counselling and a career working closely on a one-to-one basis with many clients, I felt becoming a counsellor was the right path for me. The experience I attained during this period and the skills I have learned over my life, have been invaluable in my therapeutic role and supporting clients .
During my qualification, I completed a years placement at The Margaret Jackson Centre in Exeter. The centre provides affordable one-to-one counselling for adults presenting with a range of issues.
I also held a second placement with Pete’s Dragons and worked with them both as a Counsellor and a Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officer supporting those who had lost loved ones to suicide..
In 2021 I opened my Private Practice. I have experience of working with a range of issues including; anxiety, anger, depression, addiction, grief, trauma and suicide . I work with both adults and children and liaise with outside agencies and charities.
I offer meetings on a face to face basis, with rooms in Paignton and Exeter, and I also offer sessions online or by telephone.
I abide by strict NCPS and BACP Codes of Ethics and professional practice, and you can be assured of the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality.
Alongside my work as a practicing counsellor I also enjoy teaching for South Devon College and the University Centre South Devon on their counselling program which supports individuals starting their journey at Level 2 through to completion of a foundation degree.
